We are pleased to announce that Melinda Seguin has joined our team as our new Risk Manager. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our risk management strategies and ensure the safety and success of our operations.
In her new role, Melinda will be overseeing all aspects of risk management and will be a key resource for any related inquiries or concerns. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will make within our organization.
Growing up in rural North Carolina, Melinda has spent over 30 years excelling in various fields within the insurance industry. Her vast experience has enabled her not only to “think outside the box” but to “remake the box itself.”
Her journey began as an Assistant Controller, where she was first introduced to the self-insurance market and learned the importance of a robust safety program. This experience laid the foundation for her future career. Seeking to diversify her expertise, Melinda moved to Louisiana, where she worked as a commercial underwriter, collaborating closely with logging, trucking, and construction companies.
While raising her family, Melinda transitioned into the claims field, where she continued to broaden her experience. Her diversified skill set led to an opportunity to build a risk management department for one of the largest demolition companies in the United States.
Melinda firmly believes that risk is an inherent part of life. Although it cannot be avoided, it can be controlled and mitigated. This philosophy drives her work in risk management and underpins her advocacy for employee rights and fair practices within workers’ compensation law.
Her commitment to these principles inspired her to become an active board member for Kids’ Chance of North Carolina, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides scholarships to children of injured workers.
Melinda holds multiple state licenses as an adjuster and has earned several prestigious designations, including CPCU, AU, AIS, and CRIS.
Outside of work, Melinda loves spending time by the water and enjoys being with her family, especially her grandson, in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
