Steve Cassell

SFC croppedSteve Cassell has been working in the private investigative industry for more than two decades.

In 2012, Cassell founded Command Investigations, LLC.  Command is a preferred provider of surveillance, SIU and Anti-Fraud programming to P&C carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators.

Command is the final business iteration of more than 20 years of working within the investigative and insurance claims communities.

Cassell has assembled the finest investigative “dream team” known to the industry. Each individual has been hand-picked and recruited to be an integral part of the management and investigative staff.  The latest surveillance and technology platforms have been leveraged and coupled with proven business and investigative practices.  Long-time customers have joined the Command family to partner with the next generation of investigative firms.

Prior to Command, in an effort to train, cultivate and promote the next generation of private investigators, Cassell founded the National Investigative Training Academy, Inc. (NITA).

NITA is a premier, on-line investigative training academy offering state approved licensing and certification classes. Cassell has assembled a collection of top tier faculty and staff with established investigative and business careers. This rare and unique blend of proven investigative skills and complex business experience positions NITA to best educate our industry’s most experienced investigators, aspiring business owners and the next generation of private detectives.

In 1999, Steve Cassell was the Founder, President and CEO of RSight Investigations, Inc. RSight, Inc., a licensed private investigative agency which employed approximately 120 full-time employees, provided surveillance and fraud abatement services to large self-insured employers, insurance carriers, Third Party Administrators (TPA’s) and the legal defense community. As part of RSight’s customer contract Special Investigative Unit (SIU) program, Cassell simultaneously served as the Fraud Director for several regional insurance companies and TPA’s.

From 2008 to 2010, Cassell was twice elected as a voting board member to the Florida Workers’ Compensation Fraud Task Force. Cassell had the distinct honor as being the first private investigator ever to be elected to the board. The Task Force provides critical industry data, legislative recommendations and insight to the Florida Legislature and the Governor’s Office pursuant to F.S. 626.989(9).

In 2006, Cassell was individually credited with successfully developing a new and revolutionary surveillance product called Unmanned Remote Surveillance. This surveillance platform was uniquely designed for the insurance claims community to provide a cost-effective surveillance alternative. This proprietary product has been successfully used by nearly every major insurance carrier and TPA in the country resulting in millions of documented claim savings. The application of Unmanned Remote Surveillance continues to evolve, now being used in a variety of venues outside the insurance industry.

Ten years of successful business operations culminated into one of the largest sales of a private investigative company within the country. Cassell sold RSight Investigations, Inc. to a Philadelphia based venture capital company in July of 2009. After approximately 14 months into this experience, Cassell tendered his resignation to pursue new business interests consistent with his goals and aspirations.
