August 31, 2016. Command Investigations and Frank Winston Crum Insurance announce the arrest of Rosario Morales for insurance fraud.
Command initiated an investigation on Morales after he reported a work-related accident. Command’s Claims Data Verification Program™ determined that Morales provided a suspect Social Security number in order to receive medical treatment and workers’ compensation benefits.
During the investigation, it was determined that the Social Security number provided by Morales was previously issued to an individual in Texas.
Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, Command’s SIU Department, working in tandem with Frank Winston Crum Insurance, submitted a referral to the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF), based on material misrepresentation, as statutorily required under Florida Statute 626.9891.
Morales was arrested on July 25, 2016, in Okaloosa County, Florida, and charged with the following:
F.S. 440.105 (4b9) – Use False ID for WC Claim less than $20K
F.S. 817.568 (2a) – Fraud Impersonation – Use/Poss. ID of Another Person w/o Consent
He was later released on $1k bond.
All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
