Command Conquers the 2016 Shut-In Ridge Run

Command Investigations trail running team conquered the renowned 2016 Shut-In Ridge Run in Asheville, NC.  This 18 mile historic mountain trail was constructed by George W. Vanderbilt, builder of the famous Biltmore Estate, around the year 1890. He used it to climb the Pisgah Ridge, linking his hunting lodge at Buck Springs below the summit of Mt. Pisgah to his famous Estate.

Runners gain +6,000 feet in total elevation during the 18 mile run. Harder than any marathon…this select group of 250 dedicated trail runners scramble up and over mountains, pushing your quads and calves beyond their limits.   Cramping, injuries, rocks, ice and snow are just some of the obstacles this unique group of hipster runners encounter each year.
