June 28, 2016. Command Investigations, Packard Claims Administration, Inc. and Lion Insurance Company announce the arrest of Felipe Bonilla-Marin for insurance fraud.
Command initiated an investigation on Bonilla-Marin after he suffered an alleged work-related accident. Command’s Claims Data Verification Program™ determined that Bonilla-Marin provided a false/invalid Social Security Number in an effort to collect workers’ compensation benefits.
Command confirmed that the Social Security Number provided by Bonilla-Marin was not valid.
Based upon evidence gathered from the investigation, Command’s SIU Department, working alongside Packard Claims Administration, Inc. and Lion Insurance Company, submitted a referral to the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) based on material misrepresentation, as statutorily required under Florida Statute 626.9891.
Bonilla-Marin was arrested on May 17, 2016, in Escambia County, Florida, and charged with the following:
F.S. 440.105 (4b)9 – Workers’ Compensation Fraud
F.S. 817.234 (2a) – Fraudulent Impersonation
All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
