May 27, 2015. Command Investigations, Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company announce the conviction of Jose Posada for insurance fraud.

Posada was convicted of insurance fraud on May 8, 2015 and sentenced to County Probation of 100 hours of community service.

Command Investigations, serving as the SIU Department of Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company, initiated an investigation on Jose Posada after he allegedly cut his hand while working.  Command’s SSN Verification Program™ determined that the social security number utilized by Posada to gain workers’ compensation benefits was issued to another individual in California between 1934 and 1951. Based on the evidence, a referral was submitted to Florida’s Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) as statutorily required.

Consequently, on September 6, 2013, Posada was arrested in Gadsden County, Florida and charged with insurance fraud, violating F.S. 817.568(2) – Fraudulent Use of Personal ID and F.S. 440.105(4)(B)2 – Workers’ Compensation Fraud. Ultimately, he was convicted and plead guilty to both charges.

Throughout the criminal and sentencing process, Command’s Restitution Management Program™ maintained close contact with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure that all victims’ rights are asserted, aggressively protected and maintained.
