September 3, 2015. Command Investigations, Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company announce the conviction of Angel Flores-Carcamo for insurance fraud.
Angel Flores-Carcamo was convicted of insurance fraud on August 21, 2015 and ordered to pay enforceable restitution in the amount of $19,529.46. Flores-Carcamo was sentenced to 18 months of Probation and to attend a Pre-Trial Diversion program.
A referral was submitted to Florida’s Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) as statutorily required based on the evidence collected during Command’s Claims Data Verification Program™. The evidence was submitted in conjunction with Flores-Carcamo’s utilization of a false Social Security Number found to be issued to no individual in the United States to gain employment and secure workers’ compensation benefits.
Subsequently, DIF issued an arrest warrant, and on April 23, 2015, in Collier County, Florida, Flores-Carcamo was arrested for workers’ compensation fraud, violating F.S. 440.105(4)(B) – FRAUD USE FALSE ID FOR WC CLAIM < $20K. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
Ultimately, Flores-Carcamo was convicted of the charge.
As part of Command’s Restitution Management Program™, close contact was maintained with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure that all victims’ rights are asserted, aggressively protected and maintained. This included the clear presentation of all supporting evidence to best support an enforceable restitution request in the amount of $19,529.46.
