ARRESTED (Insurance Fraud) – Leon Ventura

Leon Ventura Booking PhotoMay 13, 2016.  Command Investigations, Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company announce the arrest of Leon Ventura for insurance fraud.

Command initiated an investigation on Ventura after he sustained an injury on a jobsite. Through Command’s Claims Data Verification Program™, it was determined that Ventura provided a suspect SSN to secure workers’ compensation benefits. The investigation determined the SSN provided by Ventura was issued to an individual in the state of California.

Based upon the evidence, Command’s SIU Department, working alongside Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company, submitted a referral to the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) based on material misrepresentation, as statutorily required under Florida Statute 626.9891.

Ventura was arrested on May 11, 2016, in Hendry County, Florida, and charged with the following:

F.S. 440.105 (b) (9) – Workers’ Compensation Fraud

Ventura is currently being held without bail. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
