ARRESTED for Insurance Fraud (Alma Tejeda)

September 15, 2015. Command Investigations, Packard Claims and Lion Insurance Company announce the arrest of Alma Tejeda.

As Packard Claims’ and Lion Insurance Company’s SIU Department, Command Investigations initiated an SIU investigation on Alma Tejeda. During a claims investigation utilizing Command’s Claims Data Verification Program™, it was determined that Tejeda utilized an invalid social security number to gain employment and secure workers’ compensation benefits. The social security number provided had been issued to another individual in Idaho between 1971 and 1972.

Based on the investigation and evidence, Command’s SIU Department, working in conjunction with Lion Insurance Company and Packard Claims, submitted a referral to the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) as statutorily required. DIF issued an arrest warrant for Tejeda after review.

Consequently, on July 13, 2015, Alma Tejeda was arrested in Martin County, Florida, for insurance fraud, violating F.S. 817.234: WORKERS COMPENSATION FRAUD LESS THAN $20,000 – EVIDENCE OF IDENTITY. Tejeda was released on $20,000 bond. Tejeda’s trial is pending.

All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
