Alma Tejeda Convicted for Insurance Fraud

Tejeda plead nolo contendere on June 17, 2016, and was sentenced to two years of probation for the following charge:

F.S. 440.105 4b9 – Workers’ Compensation Fraud <$20K

Command initiated an investigation into Tejeda after she reported a work-related accident. During the investigation, Command’s SSN Verification Program™ determined that Tejeda provided a false/invalid Social Security Number for the purpose of obtaining insurance benefits.

The Social Security Number provided by Tejeda was issued to an individual in Idaho between 1971 and 1972.

Based upon evidence gathered during the investigation, Command’s SIU Department, working in tandem with Packard Claims Administration, Inc. and Lion Insurance Company, submitted a referral to the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), Division of Insurance Fraud (DIF) based on material misrepresentation, as statutorily required under Florida Statute 626.9891.

Tejeda was arrested on July 13, 2015, in Martin County, Florida. She was later released on $20K bond.
